The designers of the batplane II (based on the F9F Panther) probably did not know they were designing a fighter that is yet to be introduced 4 years later (F-101 Voodoo)
Batplane II was introduced in 1950 while F-101 Voodoo's first flight was in 1954 (introduced in 1957). Though very similar in design, it is said that the batplane II was closer to F9F Panther.
