The P40 Kittyhawk/Warhawk was the inline engined update f the original Hawk and though not as capable as its more illustrious counterparts did stirling service for the Desert Airforce first in fighter and later in ground attack roles where its ruggednesss was well suited. In the pacific Theatre it was more successful.
