The next model i am posting is the Beriev A-50 in 1:200 scale! One of the big Russian models I have. Can't compare it with the 1:50s of course :) but I am sure u will like it.

You're more than welcome Ahmed. I believe that Aviaexport was shut down, following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Presumably, the production of their models ended then too, but I can't confirm that.

Hi Ahmed, Krish. In my 35 years of collecting larger scale models, I've only come across a few, genuine Soviet/Russian airliner models, that were actually made there. Nowadays, there are many 1/200 models of Soviet airliners, Herpa, Phoenix etc. A lot of the genuine Soviet airliner models, were made by the airframe manufactures themselves, Antonov, Ilyushin, Tupolev etc.
Others were made by a Soviet era organisation called Aviaexport. This organisation was founded to promote Soviet built airliners and other types, around the world. They did this by a combination of exhibitions/displays, publishing of publicity brochures, books etc, and display models of various sizes. The large scale display models, used by Aeroflot, and other airlines in the Soviet bloc, were commissioned by Aviaexport. The Aviaexport models were mainly hollow fibreglass, and some have vinyl sticker type decals, not very good. I used to own a 1/50 IL62, 1/50 IL86, and a 1/50 Tu134, all Aeroflot except the 134, which was LOT. The manufacturer's models are usually resin or wood, and they do crop up on eBay, every now and then.

Glad you liked them Krish. I have searched for these models in 1:200 scale but did not find any! Neil has them in bigger scales so we could ask him where he got them.
