The KG 100 remains a still very mysterious unit although having experienced a certain "celebrity" in 1943 when sent by the bottom of the Italian battleship "Roma" by means of Hs 293, the famous "high bombs". But the rest of his career is largely unknown. Having seen the day before the war as a precision guidance unit, the KG 100 would evolve into more classic tasks, first on He 111, then on Do 217 and finally on He 177. She was employed in Scandinavia, England, the USSR and the Mediterranean. Often based in France, the unit would finally take part in the June 1944 fighting in Normandy before its dissolution.
