Hello, Dave!

Knights Cross Pz from Stackpole is more than a beginner's reference !!! You're right in yr identification! Hereunder some 4th Pz Div units emblems! The "Berlin Bear" is the emblem of the 1st Abteilung of the 35th Pz Regt , 4th Pz Divizion. Well seen !

Kind regards

Jeff

I wish I had more details, but I am just starting to take a deeper dive into the history of the German Panzer units. From checking the tanks encyclopedia website, I believe this model is of the 4th Panzer Division, 35th Panzer Regiment that saw action on the Eastern Front during 1943.  I would like to do some more research to verify this.  Do you recommend any good reference materials?  I thought the book "Knights Cross Panzer:  The German 35th Tank Regiment in WWII" by Schaufler might be a good place to start.

The "Bear" figure (?) showed before the "113" registration number seems to belong to the Heer's 233 Reserve Panzer Division (August 1943). Have you some more historical details on this model of SdKfz 161 PzKpfw IV Ausf G mid production?
