My father (John Houser) was a designer/engineer at Aeronca (now Magellan Aerospace) in Middletown, Ohio. He retained a wealth of knowledge about the planes that Aeronca built, and he provided information and drawings to people all over the world that made it possible for them to restore their vintage Aeronca planes.
Dad was a huge model airplane enthusiast and has a collection of over 1000 models that he built. We are trying to find a way to get the word out to collectors who might be interested in looking at and possibly buying Dad's collection. There is an auctioneer who is very interested in auctioning the model collection, but I'm not sure that is the right way to go.
Dad did some very fine work, and the models are organized in cases according to the wars and the countries involved in the wars. The models will have to be moved very carefully, as most are very fragile. The house is up for sale now and we must do something with the models. Most are 1/72 scale.
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Collection is still available as of July 29, 2015.
