Still finding my way around this brilliant site. Being a collector of large scale 'travel agent' type airliner models, I'm still working out which group to go for. My latest model, which I picked up last weekend, was my first military one, in the shape of a 1/50 Russian made Beriev A-40 Albatross jet amphibian, in the colours of the Russian Navy. For me, it is one of the most beautiful military aircraft I have seen.

HaHa! That sounds good! Beauvais-Tillé is now the 13th French airport and deals now with Ryan Air, Wizzair and some others LowCost Companies. I remember the DC3 of the Skyways of London and the Avros 748 of the DanAir... I got some photos of this time I scanned for my father 15 days ago. He's now 86 and still goes every Sunday smell the kerosen vapors !!!

I can well remember as a child, going into Beauvais on a British United Bristol 170. It was a family trip and I think I was around 7yrs. of age. The car that came with us was a Citroen DS19! As I have explained to Matt yesterday, I am putting together some new pics of the collection, and of course, that Beriev. The new camera is taking a bit of learning!

My father worked for nearly 40 years at Beauvais-Tillé Airport. He was an Air Traffic Controller and ended his carreer as Airport Manager assistant. He learnt his job at Rennes-Saint Jacques in 1946-47 with English ops rooms military controllers!!!
