Herpa's main market is Europe where 1:500 scale is more popular then 1:400. And since they are really the only serious manufacturer in this scale they pretty much have a monopoly.

I've never understood why Herpa makes so many 1:500. They're too small!!! And also why their production takes so long. 5 months away? Maybe I'm just a noob though.
