During my marriage preparations, one of the most difficult tasks was moving my aircraft and tank collection from my dad's house to my own apartment. Lucky for me, both houses are within the same building. But still moving the collection required a lot of effort and creativity.
The first step I made was to buy a new cupboard (to house the planes and tanks that were scattered all around my dad's house) and move it to my apartment. The second I made was to move all my planes out of the old cupboard I have to move it to my apartment. Now that cupboards were ready, it was time to move the collection.
My mother suggested that I move my planes on trays. Yes the same trays we use to serve food items. This would allow us to transfer a significant number in one journey and keep the planes intact. Thankfully, I only suffered one loss during the move. My mother dropped my Tu-144 and broke its nose section. Ahhhhhhhh.
After I moved all my collection to my apartment, the final task was to arrange its items in the cupboards. This task took a very long time as I got stuck with other things to accomplish. I had the planes put on the ground in an empty room until they were arranged.
Finally when I got the time to arrange my collection, I started moving each plane to my new cupboards. The photos below show the end result. I moved my Russian/Nazi/Chinese collection to one cupboard and my American/European collection to the other. My tank collection now resides in the bottom drawer of the American/European collection cupboard.
