Skymax issued this model, which is for me very important.

It's the late Pierre Clostermann's (DSO, DFC with Bar, french free air force pilot WWII and 1st Fighter of France) last Hawker Tempest nicknamed "Le grand Charles", referring to Charles de Gaulle.

He ended WWII as "A" Flight Commander of RAF Squ 3 with 23 confirmed victories and 9 probables.

It's one of my best models!!

Jeff

Hi, Bob!

Just going out from my birthday lunch!

No matter for your comments. I understand very well what you mean. What is for me the guiding lines for obtaining a model is the story which is linked to it and that speaks to me. That was my first reason buying the NV724/JF-E Tempest. I'm not intersting collecting the whole Tempests Skymax series. For instance I own the B5N2 Kate HA2001 AKAGI Pearl Harbor 1st wave. The only more Kate model I would obtain could be the B5N1  HA-2005, slightly different in shape and history.

On another hand I like Corgi models airplanes too. I got 2 Swordfish, an A6M1, a P-40 B or C, a Gladiator and a B-25. I got too 9 1/50 armored vehicles from their series.

Like for stamps, you have to choose one point of interest or your quest begins quickly huge.

Kind regards

Jeff

Hi Jeff and others,

I hope you and the other members didn't take my comment on the Sky Max Tempest wrong because I was in agreement with all the way.  I was just saying that the larger companies should be adding other aircraft for people to purchase.  Let me give an example concerning Corgi which is corner stone of my collection.  I think that the Spitfire is a great aircraft and is at the top of my list of aircraft of WWII.  At the present time I have all 50 Spitfires produced by Corgi and that includes those Spits in sets.

I have both of the new Corgi Catalogues the 1st started in Oct. 2010 to Mar. 2011, the 2nd is from April to Oct. of 2011 and I did not find any U.S., Russian, Japanese or French aircraft of WWII.  But I did find a few Spitfires  that will be produced by Corgi for the world market.  The 2nd Corgi catalogue and the Spitfire is one that really put a burr in my underwear!!!!!!!!  Starting in May you will have a Spitfire, another one in June and a 3rd one in July.  The first will have a total of 750 models, the 2nd will have 600 models and the 3rd will have a total of 500 models that will be produced.  The ONLY DIFFERENCE between these 3 Spitfire are the call letters, the first is DW-K, the 2nd is DW-E and the 3rd one is DW-Q

If you have a collection started it the Model # in a series that you follow.  If there is a break in the series you need to know why there is a break and can it be fixed.  If I purchased the first one for the collection then I would have to buy the others.  Why do I need the other 2 to Make the collection complete.  I would look and I would find a collection that was incomplete and I would need to fix and make my collection complete!   Sorry Jeff and others for taking up your time to read my short story as my wife Mary Ann would say to me.  This subject of Corgi or any company making the same plane over and

Hi, Bob here in Kansas.  I very much like the Hawker Typhoon and the Tempest both have a lot of history and both were disliked by the Germans.  I think that Sky Max produces a very nice aircraft and have some different models from those you see produced by some of the larger producers of WWII aircraft.  Check out some of the other Sky Max aircraft and you will see aircraft that the major diecast model companies are not producing.
