As far as model making goes, this is my leap into the unknown!
"Supermodelnation" is the term i coined to describe the art of bringing models to "life" using a cocktail of camera angles, delicate fingers, sound effects and heaps of patience to arrive at the finished product. Rather than playing safe with still photos, I hope this brings a fresh approach to the presentation of models. All that you see is either carved, shaped or assembled by myself using local materials and some kits. Model layout and designs are original. Building scale is 1:144 but the runway is truncated due to space constraints. Yes, for the jets I stuck with the infamous Maisto Tailwinds (I can hear the groans already!) as they are cheap, cheerful and robust and can take the bumps and knocks that come with an exercise of this nature.
This is a two part story titled- Project: Classified. This first part is a 10 minute mini-movie set on Evie Air Force Base, a fictitious Nato air base somewhere in the UK. The plot is very basic but hopefully the creativity shines through. It has a slightly tongue in cheek approach and tries not to take itself too seriously. I hope it gives you as much fun as i had making and filming it.
Part 2 will be featured shortly. After part 2, I'll feature a behind the scenes look at the making of the airfield. If you have a YouTube account please feel free to log in direct to comment there.
The 2 minute trailer is also available as a link on my first blog so if you have not seen it please check out the trailer too.
This work is in memory of my daughter Eve who died pre-term 10th March 2013
