The TWA Concorde is a model that should have been. While the Concorde was under development the interest was there from many international airlines around the world to order the world’s first supersonic aircraft. TWA was one of these airlines and in 1964 they order four Concorde’s and then in 1965 they placed an order for a further 6 making a total of ten aircraft ordered. Little did everyone know that in 1973 the world was to have the oil crisis and all but two airlines (British Airways and Air France) cancelled their orders for the Concorde.
