I came across this interesting article in the news paper today (pictures posted below). The article presents pictures of an old EgyptAir advertisement in 1939 offering daily flights (except on Monday) for just 0.25 LEs per person !!!!! It also offers people the opportunity to learn how to fly in 15 hours for just 0.6 LEs !!! I need to note that nowadays a small packet of crisps costs 0.5 LEs. So back in the days you could actually fly a plane for the price of a packet of crisps nowadays. What can I say. God damn rise of cost of living and inflation :D.
The big airplane in the news paper article is an EgyptAir (called MisrAir at the time) de Havilland DH.84 Dragon. The small airplane is a MisrAir Vickers VC.1 Viking.
