Skymax issued this model, which is for me very important.
It's the late Pierre Clostermann's (DSO, DFC with Bar, french free air force pilot WWII and 1st Fighter of France) last Hawker Tempest nicknamed "Le grand Charles", referring to Charles de Gaulle.
He ended WWII as "A" Flight Commander of RAF Squ 3 with 23 confirmed victories and 9 probables.
It's one of my best models!!
Regards
Jeff

I encourage everyone who is not a member of SAF yet to give it a try. The atmosphere is very friendly and family like. Like MAC! I think everyone would enjoy it, and with MAC and SAF we should have all fronts covered!

I gave up on the idea of building a 1:200 model airport because I have neither the time, patience, expertise, but most of all space to do it. But instead, thanks to THIS website I have a renewed interest in photography, modeling, and the two together. So I made a display today similar to what Gemini takes it's 1/400 pictures on, only 1:200 scale. Here are my construction pictures along with the finished result. I can't wait to use it with some natural light!…

Not that it wasn't already confirmed, but I finally got back to my other models after getting stuck at my parents house due to the winter storm. As you can clearly see from this picture there is a huge difference in cockpit window placement.
Pax windows are too high…

The Museum of Science and Industry on the South side of Chicago has the 17th ever Boeing 727 on display. Here are some pics from my visit. Interestingly enough, throughout the day the aircraft used to cycle through gear-up/gear-down, and flaps up/flaps down. But it didn't move while we were there. Click on this link to see her last flight -> N7017U last landing at Meigs Field…
